Ottawa, Canada, June 7, 2021 - Iridian Spectral Technologies congratulates the team at the Dunlap Institute at the University of Toronto on securing nearly $2 million in support from the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) for the development and expansion of their Dragonfly Telescope. We are proud to be able to announce that Iridian’s customized optical filters will be a key optical component in this revolutionary instrument. Iridian will design and manufacture custom narrow band filters to enable detection of specific low brightness intergalactic gas lines that may hold clues to the universe’s hitherto unseen dark matter.
Iridian are excited to be able to work with Roberto Abraham at U of T and Pieter Van Dokkum at Yale University and their teams on this new approach to astronomy and to the advances in astrophysics that Dragonfly may enable.
