Delta Optical Thin Film A/S emerges as a result of a management buyout from DELTA Danish Electronics, Light & Acoustics and becomes one of the world's leading suppliers of custom optical thin film components.
As per today DELTA has facilitated a management buyout (MBO) of the business area Optical Thin Film.
The new owners behind Delta Optical Thin Film A/S are the current Business Manager Poul Svensgaard and Development Manager Henrik Fabricius supported by industrial, foreign investors.
"The agreement is a natural part of DELTA's focus strategy on our GTS core and business. It is also pleasing that our optical thin film production gets new owners, who can give the activity the best conditions for future growth," says Juan Farré, CEO of DELTA.
DELTA's competencies within optical thin film have roots back to 1944 with the establishment of the Optical Laboratory, which already in the early 1990s was a pioneer in computer-controlled and automatic deposition of advanced optical coatings. Since then, DELTA has helped leading manufacturers of optical instruments and microscopes with custom components.
"The trend in recent years has resulted in a unique extension of the product portfolio including Linear Variable Filters. This product range opens up new, global markets for us," says Poul Svensgaard, CEO of the newly established Delta Optical Thin Film A/S.
Delta Optical Thin Film A/S takes over all relevant activities as well as employees, and remains in DELTA's premises in Hørsholm. Juan Farré is pleased, "Denmark has secured a more focused DELTA and a more focused and international optics business. DELTA’s mission in this area is thus completed, and we will now focus on other and secondary optical competences that will prove similarly relevant for subsequent commercial exploitation."
