October 11, 2013, Barrington, N.J. - Edmund Optics® (EO), the premier provider of optical components, introduces new High Energy Polarizing Cube Beamsplitters. These easy-to-mount UV fused silica polarizing cube beamsplitters provide an excellent alternative to Brewster windows.
Optically contacted design for increased laser damage threshold
High Energy Polarizing Cube Beamsplitters provide a typical damage threshold of 15 J/cm2 at 1064 nm, 10 ns, 20 Hz. To maximize laser damage threshold, High Energy Polarizing Cube Beamsplitters are constructed by optically contacting UV Fused Silica Right Angle Prisms - rather than cementing them. They are available in 12.7 mm cube size for use with a variety of common Nd: YAG laser wavelengths, including 355 nm, 532 nm and 1064 nm.
Greater than 97% Transmission of P-Polarized Light
High Energy Polarizing Cube Beamsplitters feature greater than 99.5% reflection of S-polarized light and more than 97% transmission of P-polarized light at the design wavelength. They offer 1/8λ surface accuracy for minimal wavefront distortion. High Energy Polarizing Cube Beamsplitters provide a high extinction ratio of greater than 3000:1. High Energy Polarizing Cube Beamsplitters are in-stock and available for immediate delivery for fast turnaround and excellent value.
