Maradin Laser-Based Scanning (LBS) Provides Full Color Content for XR displays, with Large Field-of-View (FoV) (50deg.), High Resolution (720p), and a Small Form Factor (<1.4cc), Ready to be Integrated into both Waveguide-based  and Direct Retinal Display Architectures

10 June, 2025 - Yokneam, Israel - Maradin™ Ltd. - the leader in MEMS-based laser lighting solutions -  today announced immediate availability of its new XR Laser-Based Scanning (LBS) lighting platform, designed specifically for the fast-growing XR market. The new platform is designed to dramatically improve both specifications and performance for XR glasses, with a seamless integration into a range of different smart glasses designs.

Possessed of  a large FoV (50 deg.), full-color and high resolution (720p), XR content can be created to enhance all day wearable devices, meeting the needs of different use cases and applications.

Based on Maradin’s proprietary MEMS design, the invisible, large FoV offers a range of new capabilities not currently available with previous technologies considered as state-of-the-art, such as foveated displays and changeable FoV.

In addition, Maradin’s technology enables the simplification of design for glasses that can fit different head shapes and sizes, without compromising eye-box or resolution.

The small laser projector (only 1.4cc), along with Maradin patented laser modulation scheme, enables two of the most important parameters needed for all-day wearable display: size and power consumption.

These parameters are crucial for smart glasses designers to meet the style and fashion demands of all-day wearable smart glasses for the mass market. Maradin’s new XR platform is disruptive and truly enables the next generation of this market.

“Our new XR platform provides endless possibilities for OEMs to extend their brand value to new and loyal buyers alike, using content with unprecedented color and resolution to demonstrate market leadership,” noted Matan Naftali, CEO of Maradin Ltd. “The new platform serves as a crucial building block that is ideally suited both for waveguide-based smart glasses design and for direct retinal display designs across the industry. LBS is a game changer for OEMs by allowing them to serve different markets and fashion bases using the same platform.”
