TOKYO, November 14, 2013—Canon Inc. and Canon Marketing Japan Inc. today announced the introduction to the Japanese market of the EOS Kiss X7 (White), a white-body version of the entry-level EOS Kiss X7, the world’s smallest and lightest digital SLR camera equipped with an APS-C-size sensor.
In recent years, there has been increasing demand for more compact and lighter-weight entry-level digital SLR cameras. In response to this demand, in April this year Canon launched the EOS Kiss X7, which combines high levels of basic performance with the world’s smallest and lightest body. Measuring approximately 116.8 (w) x 90.7 (h) x 69.4 mm (d) and weighing only around 370 grams, the diminutive X7 has proven popular among a wide range of users for its high portability, ideal for travel and school sports events, and full-fledged SLR shooting capabilities.
Representing Canon’s first-ever white-body digital SLR camera, the EOS Kiss X7 (White) features a refined white exterior coating that conveys a sophisticated appearance befitting an SLR camera while creating a design that complements the X7’s light and portable feel.
The Kiss X7 (White) will be made available in Japan in two product configurations: as a lens kit with the EF-S18–55mm f/3.5–5.6 IS STM, and as a double lens kit with the EF-S18–55mm f/3.5–5.6 IS STM and single-focal-length EF40mm f/2.8 STM (White), which features a barrel color that matches the exterior of the EOS Kiss X7 (White). The combination of the EOS Kiss X7 (White) and EF 40mm f/2.8 STM (White), the thinnest and lightest model in the EF lens lineup, realizes a compact size that delivers exceptional portability while conveying a unified overall design.
The EOS Kiss X7 (White) will go on sale in Japan in late November at an open price. Canon has set initial production at 5,000 units per month.
