26 April 2013
Somerset, New Jersey, 26 April 2013. - OFS, a leading designer, manufacturer, and supplier of innovative fiber laser components, today announced the launch of its new laser cavities that are scalable from 500W to Multi-kW for fiber laser applications.
“We are now offering our customers two types of single-laser cavities: one presently rated at 500W and the other targeted for 1kW” said Michael Fortin, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at OFS. “These two new products are compatible with OFS’ reliable and high performance TrueM2™ Beam Combiners that have the capability to combine multiple laser cavities.”
The TrueMode™-15 laser cavity is designed to be used with up to a maximum of 36 pump laser diode inputs, within a typical 0.15 NA and is commercially available now. Certification testing at higher powers is underway.
The TrueMode™-22 laser cavity is designed to be used with up to a maximum of 18 pump laser diode inputs, within a typical 0.22 NA. “Prototypes are available now for testing by our customers at 1kW and beyond” Fortin added.
OFS will have its technical staff available at the Laser World of Photonics beginning 13 May in Munich to discuss these new products. “We are excited about this product launch and look forward to meeting with our customers in Munich to provide them more information on how our new solutions can assist them with their fiber laser designs” concluded JoAnn Coyne, General Manager at OFS.
