COPENHAGEN - Denmark 11 March 2025 – JAI expands its Sweep Series with four new bilinear and monochrome camera models.

Following the recently launched 2K trilinear and monochrome models, these new cameras feature a 4096-pixel (4K) resolution on a 14.3 mm-wide sensor with a 3.5 µm x 3.5 µm pixel size. Both models deliver high scan rates, with the bilinear models reaching up to 42 kHz and the monochrome models achieving up to 84 kHz.

Engineered for outstanding spatial resolution, these cameras are ideal for applications demanding precision and fine detail detection, such as battery inspection, food sorting, logistics, postal sorting, recycling, waste sorting, and other flexible or rigid inspection applications.

Furthermore, the new 4K Sweep Series color line scan cameras feature an advanced integrated sensor that delivers exceptional precision, utilizing full-resolution green pixels and alternating blue and red pixels in two parallel lines. Minimal Spatial Compensation enables seamless integration, while FPGA-based binning technology enhances sensitivity by combining adjacent pixels to amplify signal strength. This specialized binning technique improves image quality, making the cameras ideal for low-light environments and high-speed imaging applications. In addition, featuring a bi-linear image sensor with no gap between the lines, the new models minimize the need for keystone and spatial compensation. The cameras also interpolate adjacent pixels to deliver full-resolution color channels.

Designed for seamless integration, the new models retain all the key features supported by our previous 2K models, including resume scanning, ImageOutputDelay, trigger-controlled exposure time, horizontal binning, look-up tables, and more.

Moreover, the cameras are available with both 5GigE—offering high bandwidth for faster data transfer—and CoaXPress (CXP-6)—providing high bandwidth and low latency for rapid, real-time processing—interfaces, making them easy to integrate into existing setups. Their compact size further facilitates integration, with the 5GigE models measuring 44mm x 44mm x 64mm, and the slightly smaller CXP-6 models measuring 44mm x 44mm x 54mm.

Due to its compact 14.3 mm sensor width, the cameras are supporting C-Mount lenses—one of the most commonly used lens types in machine vision. This compatibility ensures an easy lens selection process, eliminating concerns about compatibility during system setup. Any 1” C-Mount lens with sufficient resolving power can be used, offering flexibility for various imaging applications.
