Gpixel announces a new multi line scan sensor with  the GL7004; a 4096 x 2/4 resolution, 7 μm pixel, 250 kHz high speed CMOS sensor.

Offered with two variants: a multi color 4 row R+G+B+Mono and a 4 row mono option, the sensor allows each row to have a unique exposure time, with line rates up to 250 kHz in single line mode and 76.9 kHz in quad line mode.

The sensor’s high line rate is a perfect fit for high-throughput various industrial inspection applications including sorting various inspection applications like solar panel, printing and railway monitoring.

The 7 μm global shutter pixel offers a dynamic range of 61.5dB in nominal operation with a full well capacity up to 10.5 ke- and offers a high gain settings with read noise reduction down to 4.3e- . Peak  quantum efficiency is 77% @ 580 nm and still a generous 35% @ 850 nm  due to its optimized NIR process.

Figure 2: GL7004 quantum efficiency peaks at 580 nm at 77% and achieves >30% at 850 nm.

Data  is read out over 12 lanes of sLVDS at 1200 MHz.   The sensor is packaged in a 38 x 7.4mm, 72 pin CLCC with sub 1000 mW power consumption .

“The GL7004 has a powerful combination of high speed, rich colors, high quantum efficiency, and low power consumption at an efficient cost level -  making it a versatile choice for mainstream inspection systems. This combination of 4K resolution and a widely compatible 7 um pixel, fits into many line scan applications, which can benefit from a highly sensitive pixel but might not need the bulk and expense of an 8K line scan cameras. This makes it GL7004 highly complementary to our existing 7um line scan sensor family.” says  Wim Wuyts, Gpixel’s Chief Commercial Officer.

GL7004 is available now, including demo systems.
