Photonfocus introduces a new camera platform - the MV4. The new platform convinces by a fast data transfer thanks to the interfaces GigE and 10 GigE.
10 GigE - the advantages at a glance
The MV4 is Photonfocus' first camera platform with a 10 GigE interface that supports both copper and fiber optic cables. Compared to GigE, 10 GigE-Vision has a 10 times higher bandwidth and therefore a 10 times higher frame rate. Both GigE and 10 GigE are easy to set up, as both interfaces do not require a frame grabber, as is the case with Camera Link standards. The selection of the cable is premilinary for the installation.
Copper or fiber
When copper cables are used, data can be transferred over a distance of up to 100 meters and the camera can directly be powered (PoE). Glass fibre exceeds this maximal cable length by far. It allows data to be transmitted over a distance of up to 5,000 meters. Glass fibre also has the advantage of being immune to electromagnetic interference. With copper PoE (Power over Ethernet) is possible.
High-performance CMOS sensors
The MV4 camera platform not only convinces with its powerful interface standards, it also supports a variety of CMOS sensors, with up to 32 tabs. Photonfocus is a pioneer in the field of CMOS image sensor and camera technology and has almost 20 years of experience. Photonfocus also has a leading position in the development of software-defined camera platforms.
