February 3, 2015 – Irvine, CA – Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc.’s Imaging Systems Division, (www.toshibacameras.com), announces the IK-HD5U, its firsthigh-definition, 3-CMOS video camera with full frame rate HD output via USB3.0. The new progressive-scan full-HD 1080p/1080i video camera features both DVI-D and USB3.0 outputs for added versatility. The addition of a front panel freeze frame and long exposure mode up to 1 second (60 frames), makes the new camera configuration especially well-suited for scientific imaging and microscopy applications.

The 3-chip video camera delivers exceptional color accuracy and sharp, full-HD resolution, 1920 x 1080, at 59.94 frames per second (fps) providing blur-free, full motion output via both DVI and USB3.0. Toshiba Imaging’s IK-HD5U is compatible with its IK-HD5H 3-CMOS camera head which features a removable optical low pass filter (OLPF) for dual-mode imaging applications. The dual mode can easily switch between visible light and near-infrared (NIR) visualization. Ideal for any high-definition video application, the IK-HD5U also works well in imaging tasks that use fluorescing agents. Its innovative imaging capabilities are very well-suited as a component of brightfield microscopy imaging, surgical microscopy, NIR inspection, scientific, and defense imaging systems.
