WATERLOO, Ontario– July 7, 2015 - Teledyne DALSA, a Teledyne Technologies company and a global leader in machine vision, announced the Xtium™-CL MX4 frame grabber, a Camera Link® compatible image processing board based on the industry-standard PCI Express™ Gen 2.0 expansion bus to deliver high speed images to host memory.
The new series of Xtium frame grabbers is engineered to meet the ever-increasing image resolution and faster frame rates of today’s camera technology and supports applications such as color print inspection, flat-panel inspection, and general machine vision inspections. The Xtium-CL MX4 frame grabber offers higher bandwidth to sustain Camera Link 80-Bit modes over longer cable distances and supports a wide variety of area and line scan cameras in a compact half-length, single slot solution.
Taking full advantage of the PCIe Gen 2.0 x 4 platform, the Xtium-CL MX4 can deliver bandwidth in excess of 1.7 GB/s and continues to support PCIe Gen 1.0 with 850 MB/s throughput. The newly engineered, on-board, Data Transfer Engine (DTE) produces maximum bandwidth without the need for specialized motherboards or chipsets.
“The Xtium-CL MX4 is the first Teledyne DALSA frame grabber to support all Camera Link configurations with the same hardware. Camera Link configurations are field-configurable – from Dual Base, to one 80-bit, to Full, or to Medium – by simply loading a different configuration file. With its onboard processing engine, the Xtium-CL MX4 minimizes host CPU usage, offers longer cable lengths and helps reduce overall system cost with its compact design. ” said Inder Kohli, Senior Product Manager at Teledyne DALSA.
The new Xtium-CL MX4 supports the full capabilities of Teledyne DALSA’s Piranha4 Color and Linea CL line scan cameras with proprietary bi-color and RGB 9.1 processing to deliver higher line rates in color mode over increased distances.
The Xtium series of frame grabbers is fully supported by Teledyne DALSA’s Sapera™ LT and Trigger to Image Reliability™ Framework. Sapera Essential Standard Tools run-time license is free when combined with Teledyne DALSA frame grabbers.
