VRmagic’s  AVC-2 is a range of high-performance frame gabbers that can be used in many different ways for the implementation of machine vision applications. The converted digital signals are transmitted in real time via composite, Y/C, or S-video, in monochrome or color mode. The AVC-2 is available as USB version and as intelligent version.

The USB 2.0 version VRmAVC-2 is a highly functional device for the conversion of video signals into digital streams. The VRmAVC-2 is supplied with power via its USB connection and is available as OEM model and model with housing. The integrated 64 MB memory ensure a stable operation also in combination with Intel Clarkdale and Arrandale processors or USB 3.0 controllers. The VRmagic API offers convenient access to the image data on any PC or laptop.

The VRmD3AVC-2 und VRmDAVC-2 are based on the intelligent camera platforms D2 and D3 and can perform image processing tasks fully autonomously. The D3 frame grabber VRmD3AVC-2 features a more powerful dual-core chip with floating point unit (FPU) running Ubuntu Linux. Further, the direct connection of peripherals (e.g. monitor via HDMI) and control of equipment via RS232 or GPIOs is possible. 2 GB DDR3-800 RAM and 32 GB Flash on-board are available as memory. The VRmD3AVC-2 is available as OEM version. A housing variant is in preparation.

The RTSP app offers users many advantages for the implementation of visualization and surveillance tasks. The StreamLib software library uses a GStreamer-based RTSP server (real time streaming protocol), which has a low latency, variable bandwidth, and H.264 compression. In addition, multiple synchronous point-to-point connections (multiple unicast) allow the simultaneous playback of the camera image on multiple displays. The access to compressed video signals of analog cameras is possible without programming. Data transmission is carried out via Ethernet or WiFi.

The VRmD3AVC-2 offers developers a wide support of embedded image processing software. Software and libraries like Common Vision Blox Embedded, EyeVision, GStreamer, HALCON Embedded, OpenCV, and the VM_LIB cover the whole range of software development. This makes application development possible at any level of complexity.

„VRmagic has extensive experience in developing frame grabbers“, states Oliver Menken, Director of VRmagic Imaging. “Since 2003 we have been offering efficient streaming solutions for demanding applications. Over the years, we have been constantly expanding our product portfolio and adapted it to market needs. Today, frame gabbers by VRmagic offer so much more than mere detection of camera data and are widely used for in industry, medicine, and science.”
