Burnaby, British Columbia – July 31, 2014 – Icron Technologies Corporation, a leader in USB and video extension technology, and IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH, a leading manufacturer of digital industrial cameras, today announced successful joint product interoperability between IDS’ USB 3 uEye LE and ML cameras and Icron’s USB 3.0 extension series: the 15-meter Spectra™ 3001-15 active copper extension cable and the 100-meter Spectra™ 3022 fiber based extender system.
Equipped with the latest CMOS sensors from Aptina, e2v and CMOSIS, IDS’ powerful USB 3 uEye LE and uEye ML cameras offer excellent image quality, up to 169 fps and a great wealth of additional features. With a range of housing plus board level variants to choose from, IDS USB 3 uEye cameras are well suited for many different applications including machine vision, automation systems, medical and robotics.
Icron’s Spectra 3022 extender system is the ideal long distance USB 3.0 extension solution with the capability to extend up to 100 meters and beyond over multimode OM3 fiber optic cabling. For shorter range applications, the Spectra 3001-15 is a bus powered copper cable that extends USB 3.0 at 15 meters while providing a full 5V, 900mA of current. Both extenders support throughputs of 5Gbps and feature locking connectors per AIA USB3 Vision™ specification. Additionally, the extenders come with a two-year warranty and include the ExtremeUSB® suite of features such as transparent USB extension, true plug and play (no software drivers), and compatibility with all major operating systems including Windows® 8.
