ROCHESTER, NY — June 4, 2013 — Navitar, a global leader in optical technology, adds the HemiStar® HT49 to their established line of 180°/160°/100° fisheye projection lenses. The HT49, a wide-angle F/3 fisheye lens with a 4.87mm focal length, is designed for 2K-resolution, 3-chip DLP projectors and is ideal for planetarium and immersive applications.
The HT49 offers projection angles of 185.9°H x 160.0°V on 0.96” WUXGA panels, and 185.9°H x 181.8°V on 0.94” SXGA+ panels. On a 0.94” HD1080 format panel, the lens gives angles of 185.9°H x 142.1°V, useful for high brightness dome applications. The HT49 also provides high resolution and minimized lateral color to the field, despite the large field of view.
“The HT49 is ideal for applications requiring single, center-mounted projector locations, and the high-lumen output available with 3-chip DLP projectors,” comments Don Ehinger, Vice President of Sales at Navitar. “AV rental houses are constantly looking for ways to increase revenue from their stock of high-cost 3-chip projectors, and our HT49 opens up a world of possibilities.”
The HT49 is currently compatible with 3-chip DLP projectors manufactured by Christie, Panasonic, Projection Design and Digital Projection.
