MONTREAL — Aug. 7, 2013 — Matrox Imaging today announced Matrox 4Sight GPm, a cost-effective industrial imaging computer purpose-built for machine vision on the factory floor. Matrox 4Sight GPm boasts a fanless design that reduces maintenance costs and downtime by eliminating the need to clean or replace an air filter, or replace a worn out fan. The system is equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet and four SuperSpeed USB ports for connecting to the full range of available GigE Vision® and USB3 Vision® cameras. The Gigabit Ethernet ports support Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) to streamline cabling.

“Matrox 4Sight GPm is a natural evolution of our 4Sight family, which has delivered complete image capture and processing solutions to a variety of industries the world over since 1999,” said Fabio Perelli, product manager at Matrox. “Matrox 4Sight GPm incorporates the fanless operation, extensive connectivity and industry-proven software needed to cost-effectively handle multi-camera, and even multi-line, inspections.”

Matrox 4Sight GPm comes pre-loaded with Microsoft® Windows® Embedded Standard 7. Applications are created using standard Microsoft® development tools and the Matrox Imaging Library (MIL), a comprehensive collection of tools for developing machine vision and medical imaging applications. MIL features programming functions for image capture, processing, analysis, annotation, display and archiving.

Matrox 4Sight GPm is available now. It will be showcased at PACK EXPO 2013 (Las Vegas, Sept. 23-25) in the Matrox Imaging booth C-5111.
