LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Oct. 18, 2021 – Power Technology, Inc., a leader in the Photonics industry for more than 50 years, announces it has designed a new 685 nm, 100mW laser diode module for OEM applications. The PM90(685-100) laser is specifically designed for applications that require this unique wavelength, high output power and good wavelength stability. The new module offers twice as much optional power than previously available lasers, as well as an improved, nearly circular beam profile.
The PM90(685-100) features a focused or collimated beam with high-quality optics, provides a typical wavelength of 685 nm, and operates optimally from 5 VDC. The versatility of this module makes it ideal for a range of uses including machine vision, life sciences, 3D scanning and alignment applications. When collimated, the laser module features 1.16 x 1.80 millimeter beam diameter, providing a nearly circular profile. Additionally, diffraction limited focused beams are available.
“As we continue to expand our portfolio of laser modules, we are pleased to be the first manufacturer in the market to offer one with this much power with a near-circular beam option at the 685 nm wavelength,” said Walter Burgess, co-CEO of Power Technology. “Additionally, the highly efficient electrical to optical conversion allows us to provide it in our cost-effective PM format.”
