15 September 2015 - SPECIM, Spectral Imaging Ltd , world leader in hyperspectral solutions, releases first professional quality hyperspectral sensor range, intended for UAV's and other platforms of limited payload size, at InterGEO 2015.
AisaKESTREL pushbrooming hyperspectral sensor systems are built to the same strictest data quality requirements as SPECIM´s world renowned AisaEAGLE and AisaFENIX sensors, using the experience gathered through 20 years of track record in airborne hyperspectral remote sensing. “When it comes to detecting vegetation, water or soil attributes of minute spectral differences, there are simply no alternatives in the market compared to the radiometrically and spectrally stable data and high signal-to-noise ratio, as provided by AisaKESTREL in variable real world remote sensing conditions. You may find lighter sensors than 5kg, but not without serious compromises in the data quality”, tells Petri Nygren, Sales Manager for Airborne Systems at SPECIM. “Landsat started spectral remote sensing with GSD´s at hundred meter level,” he continues. “Aircraft mounted AISA sensors brought GSD´s to 0.5-1m level. Now in this decade of UAV´s, we have broken even that GSD barrier down to 5-10cm level, first time with professional data quality. 5-10cm GSD is the norm with other airborne sensor technologies like orthophoto cameras and LiDAR´s, with which hyperspectral data is perfectly complementary in multitude of ways. This means completely new era for creating added value through remote sensing”
While data quality of AisaKESTREL sensor is scientific level, the use of the system through the completely renewed SPECIM’s LUMO user interface family is extremely simple. SPECIM provides all the components and sensor calibration information required for collecting – remotely from a ground station when so required - the full datacube at superior image resolution. Through SPECIM´s CaliGeoPRO –preprocessing software, all image pixels are automatically georectified into true-orthoimagery with more than 380 spectral bands.
Novelty comes in 2 versions, AisaKESTREL10 for 400-1 000 nm and AisaKESTREL16 for 600-1 640 nm. Contact SPECIM for choosing the right KESTREL for your specific application.
