The high-speed 3D sensors of the CX series inspect objects by means of laser triangulation. For this method the CX sensors not only offer the algorithms TRSH, MAX and COG, but now also the FIR-PEAK detection. As well, AT revised the powerful COG algorithm to deliver even more detailed 3D data.
For getting precise measuring results by the sheet of light technique, an accurate determination of the laser line position is indispensable. To counteract various disturbances, 3D imaging uses different kinds of algorithms for the laser line detection. These algorithms come with distinct advantages and this is why a wide variety of 3D algorithms enable a flexible adjustment for customized requirements like material properties.
The new FIR-PEAK algorithm analyses the intensity profiles of the laser line by a mathematical derivation and thus precisely ascertains the position of the laser line. Thereby a smoothing filter initially optimizes the data to be analysed. This filter can also be used in combination with other detection algorithms and due to this, integrators are supported with a lot more options for the specific measurement setup at hand. In addition to this, we significantly enhanced the accuracy of the COG algorithm during the course of the algorithm enlargement.

This is why the CX series offers the only available high-speed 3D sensors on the market whose profile speed is not influenced by the selected algorithm. For this reason, CX sensors achieve measuring speeds with up to 71.5k profiles per second, no matter if you choose the MAX-, TRSH-, COG- or the new FIR-PEAK algorithm for your application.
