TRIOPTICS presents the new OptiCentric® 3D 101 centration measurement system, featuring completely integrated center thickness and air gap measurement for calculating centering errors inside of the objective lens based on real measurement values.

For many years now, the OptiCentric® 100 product family has been setting the global standard for optical centration testing as well as manual and automated cementing and bonding of lenses and lens assemblies. The successor model OptiCentric® 101 now scores with the highest measuring accuracy especially for live measurements, which is particularly advantageous for alignment tasks.

For even more flexibility, the system is available in two configuration options. The classic model with a moving autocollimator has proven its value by minimizing the impact of the vignetting. “New in this system is the static positioning of the autocollimator above the travel axis,” Product Manager Dr. Patrik Langehanenberg explains. “This reduces the effects of stage rolling errors and the azimuth direction of the centering error can be detected even more precisely. The significant improvement in azimuth accuracy means that lens systems can now be measured and aligned even more accurately using MultiLens software and SmartAlign module.” In addition, this variant enables alternative rotation-free centering error testing without having to rotate the sample at all. The resulting faster measuring speed provides for a considerable increase in efficiency.

The OptiCentric® 101 is a combination of centering test and the air distance measuring system OptiSurf®. The new feature here is the complete integration of both measuring processes in one common software. This not only makes the products easier to use, since both measuring systems are controlled from the same user interface and in a uniform process flow, but also has an important effect on the measurement result. Langehanenberg explains: “The results of the center thickness and air gap measurement are used as a basis for the centration testing. Instead of performing the centration test with only the nominal values, this globally unique system allows the real values to be used in the multi-lens calculation, which makes the result even more accurate.” Protected by a patent, TRIOPTICS thus makes testing lens systems both easier and more precise.

Langehanenberg likes to compare the product launch of the OptiCentric® 3D 101 with the introduction of the new 5G cellular standard: “To meet tomorrow’s requirements, visions for the future must be realized today. With the launch of the OptiCentric® 3D 101, TRIOPTICS is therefore taking a major step towards increasing precision and efficiency in the optics of the future”.
