Basler is one of the first camera manufacturers to launch a CoaXPress 2.0 camera series. The Basler boost bundle, consisting of boost camera and the correspondingly developed Basler CXP-12 Interface Card, offers both components from a single source and is now being produced in series. Customers benefit from the harmonious interaction between camera and interface card using the SDK of the pylon Camera Software Suite, the easy-to-use software for both components.

Ahrensburg, April 14, 2020 – Basler starts series production of its new boost CXP-12 camera family and bundles. The boost bundle combines the strengths of the camera - high resolution and speed thanks to modern CMOS sensor technology - with the performance of the new CoaXPress 2.0 standard. With the boost bundle, customers get the opportunity to use the advantages of this combination for their respective applications. Thanks to its features, the camera with its CXP-12 interface is particularly suitable for automated optical inspection tasks such as packaging, PCBs, bottles or surfaces, as well as for inspection applications in the medical sector.

Optionally equipped with either of Sony's modern IMX253 sensor with 12 megapixel resolution and a maximum frame rate of 68 fps or the IMX255 sensor with 9 megapixels at a maximum of 93 fps, the boost camera series offers excellent image quality. In addition, there is a bandwidth of up to 12.5 Gbps thanks to the modern CoaXPress 2.0 standard; both components - camera and interface card - can be conveniently controlled via the SDK of the pylon Camera Software Suite. This ensures simple integration and operation of the camera. Since a separate I/O cable is not required, Power-over-CXP (PoCXP) provides a convenient single cable solution with a maximum possible cable length of 40 meters.

This reduces the complexity of the hardware setup and has a positive effect on system costs.

Currently four models of the Basler boost camera are available, the expansion of the series with new models is planned for the future.

Detailed information about the Basler boost camera series and the boost bundle is available on the Basler website.
