March 1, 2019, Saitama, Japan - Tamron Co., Ltd. (President & CEO: Shiro Ajisaka; Headquarters: Saitama City, Japan), a leading manufacturer of optics for diverse applications, announces the market launch of a fixed-focal lens, M112FM06, for 1/1.2" imagers employed in machine vision, with the focal length of 6mm and supporting full 5-mega pixel resolution in an industry-leading* Ø29mm compact body. This release expands the current lens portfolio for 1/1.2" imagers (M112FM series) to eight lenses that accommodate extensive focal lengths: 6mm F/2.8, 8mm F/2.4, 12mm F/2.0, 16mm F/2.0, 25mm F/1.8, 35mm F/2.1, 50mm F/2.8 and 75mm F/3.5.
* Machine-vision camera lenses compatible with 1/1.2 imagers and supporting 5-mega-pixel resolution (survey by Tamron, effective as of February 2019)
Mega-pixel cameras used for machine-vision applications including production equipment, board mounting equipment, various test equipment, and various engineering machines migrate toward larger-size imagers and higher resolution.
The market offers many types of lenses to meet various installation conditions, while each application requires optimum selection of camera-and-lens combination. Some specific production equipment, board inspection equipment, and industry-grade printers demand lenses that can be installed in a limited space and assure high resolution and high contrast in close-up wide-angle images.
Tamron currently offers an extensive array of mega-pixel machine-vision lenses for 1.1” imagers (four models in the M111FM series), 1/1.8” imagers (six models in the M118FM series) and 2/3” imagers (seven models in the M23FM series and three models in the 23FM series). The newly released M112FM06 extends the existing seven models in the M112FM series for 1/1.2” imagers. This addition offers a widest selection of high-resolution lenses to address customers’ particular needs.
Tamron develops industry-leading high-resolution fixed-focal lenses that address customers’ critical requirements and needs in machine vision and pursues optical performance that assures distinguished fidelity in all image details, and excelled user utility.
1. Unrivalled High Contrast and High Resolution in the Industry
The new lens is compatible with both 5.86μm pixel-pitch 1/1.2” imagers and 3.45μm pixel-pitch 2/3” imagers, supporting maximum 5-mega-pixels high-resolution, the highest in resolution and contrast in Ø29mm machine-vision lenses.
2. Advanced Coating Technology and State-of-the-art Optical Design
Tamron’s state-of-the-art optics and advanced coating technologies assure distinguished optical performance, particularly in contrast and resolution, and superb optical permeability for crisp and clear images.
3. High-Quality Imaging in Close-up Shooting Distance
The new lens assures high-quality imaging in commonly-used close-up distances.
4. Strict Inspection on Quality
Strict inspection is performed to certify resolution from the center to the periphery of images, assuring high-contrast and high-resolution without unbalanced blurring throughout the entire lens view.
5. Improved Maneuverability and User Utility
Rotational torque is increased to improve maneuverability in the focusing and iris adjustment. Lock-screw positions are increased from three in the former models to four, assisting easier installation by users.
6. A Commonly-used Setscrew is Included as a Standard Accessory
A lock-screw used in previous models can be changed to an embedding-type setscrew, reducing the diameter of the lens barrel for more compact installation.
