Emergent Vision Technologies, the first manufacturer's of 10 GigE Cameras, and shipping the technology for 5+ years, will be displaying a 50 MP 10 GigE Camera, along with the launch of the Sony Pregius Sensor Camera Family, at VISION 2016, Messe Stuttgart, (Hall 1, Stand F81)

10 GigE is the natural progression for GigE, the most popular camera interface in Machine Vision today.  10 GigE gives current GigE Customers the opportunity to experience this cutting edge technology with the cabling they are familiar with in their current GigE camera solutions via EVT's HT series.  Alternatively there is the HR Series for customer to enjoy longer cable options.

In addition, customers will be able to finally experience 10X the speed of GigE without the complexity they'd have to endure with a Camera Link or Coax Express camera to get it.

The 50MP camera (HR50000 or HT50000), features an electronic global shutter CMOS image sensor that can produce 7920 x 6004 images at more than 23 fps. The cameras—which are available in monochrome and color—come in two variations, our HR Series 10 GigE (SFP+ Fiber) or HT Series 10 G Base T (RJ45 Copper) interface.  The HR Series offers an impressive cable length option from 1M to 10KM without the need of fiber converters via fiber.  The HT Series uses the more traditional RJ45 Copper connection which allows for cable lengths from 1M to 100M of CAT6A Cable.

The Sony Pregius Sensor Family opens up EVTs product offering by introducing cameras in 3MP, 5MP, 8MP, and 12MP resolutions, all of which can be configured for SFP+ or RJ45 connections. As always, all EVT cameras are GigE Vision and GenICam compliant.

Also to be showcased at the show is a full line up of accessories including many 10 GigE Card Options and the Birger Mount. Because off the shelf GigE and 10 GigE Cards on the market today offset the data from GigE Cameras to the PC to process, typical PCs on the market today can't handle the large amount of data and speed that comes off a 10 GigE Camera. If attempted, the process would cripple most PCs on the market today. EVT partnered with Myricom to design MVA, so when the data comes off the camera, it is processed directly onto the NIC Card. This leaves the PC free to do whatever processing a customer needs to do after the images are captured and provides less then 1 % CPU utilization. Card options currently available are single, dual and dual sync, with the dual sync option allowing for synchronization of multiple cameras to sub 1 micro second. These NIC cards (and more options coming soon), allow for multiple cameras on a card and multiple cards in a PC. We've had customers who've used up to 16 cameras in one tower with positive results that are unmatched by any other camera provider using 10 GigE, Camera Link or Coax Express interfaces.

The Birger Mount is a lens mount adapter, that can be added to any EVT cameras. It allows for use with Canon EF Mount lenses, whose iris and focus are controlled through the camera API. Birger is also set to launch zoom controlled lens mount adapters coming soon.
