Ottawa, Ontario, Canada – June 23, 2015 – PixeLINK®, a global provider of industrial cameras for the machine vision, life sciences and microscopy markets, today announced the addition of two new 2.3 megapixel global shutter CMOS models for its family of USB3 Vision cameras based on Sony’s IMX174 and IMX249.

The new CMOS sensors by Sony are earning rave reviews for light sensitivity, dynamic range and color reproduction. PixeLINK’s new cameras, the PL-D752 and the PL-D792 will provide excellent image quality combined with low noise performance. The PL-D752, built using the IMX174 sensor, will be offered in both 10 bit and 12 bit versions and provide speed of 164 frames per second. The camera is designed for applications that require excellent image quality and require the camera to work in low-light conditions.

“As a Sony distributor, we are very excited about the IMX174 and IMX249 CMOS sensors. By integrating these sensors into their USB3 lines of cameras, PixeLINK is providing a very rich USB3 offering for the industrial market” states Rusty Ponce de Leon, President and CEO of Phase 1 Technology Corp.

The new board level and enclosed cameras are designed to work in machine vision, medical imaging, biometrics, and fluorescence microscopy applications.

“It is important that our customers are provided with their choice of USB3 cameras that best meet their specific requirements. As imaging applications increasingly take advantage of the bandwidth available with USB3, the need to supply reliable high speed cameras that provide excellent image quality is growing rapidly. PixeLINK is highly committed to the USB3 industrial camera market” says Paul Saunders, President of PixeLINK.
