December 3, 2014 – Richmond, BC, Canada – Point Grey, a global leader in the design and manufacturing of innovative, high-performance digital cameras, today announced the addition of a new 1080p60 model to its Cricket® IP security camera line.
The new Cricket CR-POE-20S3C model features a 1/2” Sony IMX185 Exmor CMOS sensor capable of 1920 x 1080 resolution at 60 FPS. This 2.0 MP sensor uses the same 3.75 micron pixel structure as the existing 1.3 MP Cricket camera with the Sony IMX139, which offers impressive low light performance and wide dynamic range. Like all Cricket cameras, the new model uses Sony’s Xarina image processing platform, which enables multi-image WDR functionality, multi-streaming, noise reduction, video encoding and ONVIF support. The new Cricket model is compatible with a 1/2” or larger manual iris or DC auto iris lens, sold separately.
“The Cricket IP camera line offers excellent image quality, low light performance, and wide dynamic range that is on par with much more expensive security cameras in the industry,” says Michael Gibbons, Director of Sales and Marketing at Point Grey. “Cricket has been well received by customers with traditional IP surveillance and mobile applications. We’re excited to introduce the IMX185 model, which offers even greater sensitivity at high 1080p resolution.”
The CR-POE-20S2C-CS (1080p60) model is list priced at $349/€289. Both models are available to order now directly from Point Grey and via the online store (for North American, EU and Australian customers).
