(Burlington, MA; August 30, 2017)   JGM Associates, Inc. (JGMA) offers ultra-compact, low-cost OEM solid-state lasers for desktop, portable, and hand-held instruments, including LIBS, mass spectrometry, cytometry, flow cytometry, DNA analysis, and laser microscopy instruments.

A passively Q-switched 1064 nm laser (photo) is the company’s first OEM product offering. Pulse energy is 5 mJ at pulse rates to 100 Hz, pulse duration is 2 ns, and beam quality is M2 = 1.5 to 2.5 depending on resonator configuration.  Laser head size is 1.7”W x 2.2”L x 0.8”H.  Higher 1064 nm pulse energy (to 50 mJ) can be provided with the same laser head package, but at lower maximum pulse rate. Applications include LIBS, laser ablation and surface cleaning, laser-induced plasma, LIDAR (including flash LIDAR), range finding, marking/stamping, and IR illumination. Versions that provide eyesafe, mid-IR, green, and UV wavelengths, and an EO-switched version, will soon be available in similar ultra-compact laser head packages.

Established in 1990, JGM Associates, Inc. is a small business in Burlington, MA which is a suburb about 15 miles north of Boston. Mr. Jeffrey G. Manni has worked in the laser industry for more than 35 years. JGMA recently transitioned from being a laser R&D company to an OEM laser manufacturer. The company has delivered several hundred lasers to a leading supplier of hand-held LIBS instruments since June 2015.
