Yokneam, Israel – July 03, 2013 – Senso Optics, a leader in the design, development and production of innovative thermal imaging technologies and advanced electro-optical solutions for military, paramilitary and security markets both in Israel and around the world, announces the new TVS - Thermal Vision Sensor for Enhanced Vision System (EVS), which enable safe taxing, takeoff & landing of aircrafts. The EVS presents an image of the external environment to enhance pilot situational awareness of terrain and the airport environment in low-visibility situations.

Darkness, and clouds are the primary enemies of flight, but technology is beginning to provide solutions. Thermal Vision Systems present pilots with an infrared view of surroundings, penetrating darkness and weather conditions.

The TVS (Thermal Vision Sensor) is a thermal camera, sensitive to the Long Wave Infra-Red (LWIR) spectrum and based on an uncooled micro-bolometer, 17μm pixel pitch, VGA (640X480) high sensitive (HS) detector.

TVS provides the flight crew with an enhanced image of the external scene allowing real time situational awareness and assistance during taxing, takeoff and landing in day and night. The TVS enhanced the pilot's ability to detect objects during adverse weather, reduced visibility conditions and at night which may not otherwise be visible.

Jacob Dagan, President & CEO of Senso Optics said, “We are pleased that the TVS - Thermal Vision Sensor for Enhanced Vision System can provide our clients with higher safety and comprehensive solution for low visibility conditions". With the TVS “You know exactly where you are”, Dagan said.

The TVS features increased sensitivity and wide operating temperature range together with low power consumption and small sizes. Thereby expanding options for seeing terrain, avoid obstacles, including cables, in darkness and all weather conditions.
