Berlin/Germany 21st August 2013: eagleyard Photonics, a leading supplier of high-power laser diodes offers a cost-efficient single-emitter laser diode with an optical output power up to 18 Watt

Gentle techniques at surgical and diagnostic treatments are nowadays unthinkable without the use of laser technology. eagleyard Photonics produces the core of such a medical laser – the laser diode.

The introduction of the new 18 Watt BAL-980 laser diode complements the already worldwide successfully established high quality lasers made by eagleyard. Its high efficiency makes this laser diode not only suitable for medical purposes but also for high-end applications in industry and aeronautics.

Product features such as
• high output power up to 18W
• integrated lenses
• high efficiency (0.9W/A)
• compact design (25 x 25 x 12 mm³)
• small weight (30g)
allow easy fiber coupling and robust handling.

„We are continuously anxious to launch reliable high quality products – especially for medical technology and other high-end applications." says Michael Kneier, VP Sales and Marketing at eagleyard Photonics. „This laser diode is optimized for 200 μm fiber coupling. Its robust design in conjunction with just one single-emitter and collimated beam was especially developed to make it perfectly suited for the use in high integrated systems." explains Kneier furthermore.

You will find more information about single-emitter-products of the CDL (Collimating-Double-Lens)-laser family at http://www.eagleyard.com/en/products/broad-area-laser/

eagleyard Photonics will be represented by its Distributor MarketTech at Neuroscience from 9th to 13th of November 2013 at San Diego Convention Center booth No. 815

About eagleyard:

eagleyard Photonics started as a spin-off from the Ferdinand-Braun Institut (FBH) in 2002. The core competence is the development, production and sale of innovative high-power laser diodes based on GaAs (Gallium Arsenide). Its portfolio contains laser diodes with wavelengths ranging from 633 nm to 1,120 nm (DFB-lasers, tapered lasers, ridge waveguide lasers and broad area lasers). These laser diodes are addressing a variety of applications such as aerospace and defense, spectroscopy, medical instrumentation, test & measurement and material analysis. eagleyard is represented worldwide, particulary in Europe, Asia and the United States of America. Since January 2013 eagleyard belongs to the Toptica Group. For more information, please visit our website at www.eagleyard.com
