(Mainz, 23.08.18) Edmund Optics® (EO), the premier provider of optical components, introduces new coating options for TECHSPEC® Fused Silica Wedge Prisms. These versatile prisms are designed for a wide variety of beam steering applications using an Nd:YAG laser.

New laser line coatings provide Rabs <0,25% at the Design Wavelength

TECHSPEC® Fused Silica Wedge Prisms are specifically designed to provide high transmittance at the first through fourth Nd:YAG harmonics. New laser line coatings provide Rabs <0,25% at the design wavelength and offer guaranteed laser induced damage thresholds of 3 J/cm2 at 266 nm, 7,5 J/cm2 at 355 nm,  10 J/cm2 at 532 nm, and 15 J/cm2 and at 1064 nm, with a 20 ns pulse duration and 20 Hz pulse repetition rate.

Superior system performance with λ/10 surface flatness

Precision TECHSPEC® Fused Silica Wedge Prisms are optimized to ensure the highest level of system performance using tightly controlled specifications including λ/10 surface flatness, 20-10 surface quality, and a 15 arcsecond wedge tolerance. To alter a beam path, TECHSPEC® Fused Silica Wedge Prisms use one prism surface that is orthogonal to the optical axis and one wedged surface. When two Nd:YAG prisms with the same wedge deviation are used, this creates a risley prism pair, which allows for custom beam steering of up to two times the deviation. With diameter tolerances of +0,0/-0,1 mm, these laser line coated prisms are available in diameters of 12,5 mm and 25,0 mm with nominal deviations from 0,5° to 5,0°. TECHSPEC® Fused Silica Wedge Prisms are in-stock and available for immediate delivery.
