M Squared Lasers introduces SolsTiS-EMM - the new External Mixing Module designed to complement the award-winning ‘SolsTiS’, CW narrow linewidth Ti:Sapphire laser.

A major breakthrough in laser technology, SolsTiS-EMM enables access to previously hard to reach wavelengths in the UV, visible and IR regions, whilst also featuring the narrow linewidth, ease of use and ultra stable output for which SolsTiS is well-known.

This new addition now gives M Squared’s SolsTiS platform unrivalled wavelength coverage from 210nm to 3.2um, achieved through a variety of extensions which feature doubling, sum frequency and difference frequency mixing schemes.

In particular, this all-solid state, hands free solution for wavelength coverage now supersedes dye lasers, removing the hazards and instabilities associated with this toxic gain material.

Professor Duncan Steel of the University of Michigan commented:

 “The new sum frequency generation technique developed by M Squared, and based on the solid state pumped SolsTiS Ti-Sapphire laser, provides an incredible new technology that vastly improves the availability of tunable and frequency stabilized CW lasers in a spectral region previously dominated by dye lasers.”
