Princeton Optronics Inc. announces the availability of a VCSEL pumped 1064nm 15mJ/pulse, 20Hz solid state laser (product no: PR-LSIG-12-W1064). The laser uses an 800W Nd:YAG VCSEL array to end pump a solid state laser rod to deliver 15mJ/pulse single mode power which is capable of air breakdown (shown in the picture). The laser is very simple in construction and does not need any active cooling. The laser works well up to an ambient temperature of 50 degC. The laser has a length of 4" and a laser diameter of 3/4".

The laser would have applications in laboratory experiments, laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS), Raman Spectroscopy, and bio-medical applications. This laser is available at low cost for OEM applications. The laser is also a demonstration of the simple construction of VCSEL pumped solid state lasers, which are being increasingly applied to multitude of applications.

Princeton Optronics is a manufacturer of high power single and multi-mode VCSELs and VCSEL arrays, and VCSEL pumped solid state lasers and has a diverse range of products suitable for many high power laser applications including illumination, sensing, and solid state laser pumping. We have the highest power (>200W CW and 1kW in QCW from a single 5x5mm array) and highest efficiency level (>63%) in the VCSEL industry.
