Littleton, MA, USA, July 16, 2014, 2014Lambda Research Corporation, the leading designer and manufacturer of illumination and optical design software, announces its participation in the 2014 SPIE Optics and Photonics Exhibition, Booth #121, at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, CA, USA from August 19-21, 2014.

At the event, Lambda Research Corporation will be offering live demonstrations of TracePro®, the company’s flagship product, TracePro Bridge™ for SolidWorks®, and OSLO® (Optics Software for Layout and Optimization), the world renowned lens design tool. Optics and design engineers attending the show are encouraged to bring their latest projects and experience a real-time demo using their own designs.

TracePro 7.4 includes new features, such as improved photorealistic rendering using photon mapping to depict scenes, sources, light pipes, and instrument panels. TracePro’s unique rendering process is especially effective where multiple bounces occur in light pipes, lenses, and standard optical components, as well as for LED source color rendition. Trusted by design engineers around the world, TracePro is the ideal tool for all types of optical and illumination applications with the shortest learning curve in the industry.  

TracePro Bridge enables SolidWorks users to apply and save optical properties directly in the SolidWorks CAD file. With TracePro Bridge, a single model is used by both TracePro (for ray tracing and optical analysis) and SolidWorks (for mechanical design and modifying optical properties) to ensure data integrity. TracePro Bridge allows designers to significantly accelerate the product development process without sacrificing performance or functionality.

OSLO enables designers and researchers to determine the optimal sizes and shapes of the components in optical systems. In addition to classical lens design features, OSLO combines advanced ray tracing, analysis, and optimization methods with a high-speed macro language to solve a wide variety of new problems in optical design. OSLO has the capability of modeling a broad range of reflective, refractive, and diffractive components. The latest OSLO release consists of several updates and improvements: most notable is support for the Hikari index interpolation formula and an overhaul of the glass catalogs to reflect the latest data from CDGM, Hikari, Hoya, Ohara, Schott, and Sumita.
